A very exciting featherweight matchup is heading to Brazil on January 19, as Brazil's Portal do Vale Tudo reports that Diego Nunes will take on Nik Lentz on the card.

It's not clear on which platform the event will be broadcast, though it's been ruled out as a pay-per-view event with the first pay-per-view of 2012 being Feb. 2's UFC 156 event.

Both fighters enter January's event off of impressive victories. Nunes defeated Bart Palaszewski last month in the "Fight of the Night" at UFC on FX 5 in Minneapolis. He outworked Palaszewski throughout the fight, looking sharp for most of it and nearly finishing the tough Palaszewski a couple of times before settling for a decision win.

In the crowd that night was Minnesota's Lentz, who made his featherweight debut this summer in highly impressive fashion. After a tough loss to Evan Dunham in a competitive fight in January, Lentz dropped to the 145 lb. division, where he manhandled Eiji Mitsuoka at UFC 150.

Penick's Analysis: I love this fight. It's a definite step up for Lentz in the featherweight division, where he looks like he could be a very formidable contender. For Nunes, it's a chance for him to follow up an impressive win by getting one over another respected and tough opponent as well. It's the perfect fight for each of them in their progression, and the winner will be in a good place in the featherweight division.
